I feel like these are the best keepers for buckle making. These 1.5 inch steel buckle keepers are made for 14 gauge steel. The back is 5/8 wide, the front 3/4 wide. This leaves a nice square surface with small edges to make adding rope wire easier. Mounting overlays is easier as well as the front of these is flat….. no shaping silver to fit up. You can use as they are or refine them to your liking, the choice is yours.
